Transitional dressing; It strikes fear into many, especially those of us lucky to live in the UK, where as we all know the weather has a mind of it's own. It can go from freezing wind and rain in the morning, to a beautiful sunny afternoon, how can anyone prepare for that!?

Well, I may be able to help. After years of struggling, with many, many fails, I've finally found the ultimate transitional piece; the classic, beige  Ashton Trench from my faves over at Baukjen

The trench/mac/rain coat has been having a bit of a moment recently, so as part of a two part blog feature, I will be styling this transitional staple two ways, both of which can give you some ideas of how versatile one piece can be.

Baukjen is one of my favourite brands. Every aspect of their company, ethos and vision just gel with my own style and lifestyle. I genuinely love working with them, and always feel so spoilt for choice when I'm lucky enough to choose a few pieces. Put simply; they design for women. Every piece is carefully created with comfort, style and with the female figure in mind (in all it's wonderful shapes and sizes). Their sizes are generous, and they manage to get the balance of classic pieces, with on trend designs sprinkled in. The quality is next level, yet not overpriced, so I'm always over the moon when I get to work with them.

The first look I went for, was a piece that, unusually for me, has been a favourite in my SS18 wardrobe; the midi dress. Yes, ask me a few years ago, what I categorically wouldn't be wearing, and it would have been any type of skirt or dress. But this year, I've fallen head over heels with anything mid-length and flowing (mainly from Baukjen, see their polka dot skirts!). I found them flattering, easy to wear and most importantly, on trend with no (or little) effort. So, with that in mind, I put the two together! Finished with my Chanel sandal boots and a basket bag, and I couldn't have been happier with this first look. I felt ultra feminine, but balanced out with the masculine looking, bulky sandals, found the balance was just right.

The trench itself if warm, flattering and the perfect colour beige (find it hard find neutrals that don't wash me out!). The beautiful Annabelle Dress has a tie waist belt and a tiered effect to the skirt, which makes it just that little bit more special. Again, easy to wear and flattering are the words I'd use again and again for any of the Baukjen collection - perfect every time!
