Some of you may have seen me wearing my glasses on my stories, and I have to admit, I'm a bit of a fan. I have wanted to be a 'glasses wearer' most of my life. I always thought they looked so good and made you look oh so cool. So much so, I tried (and failed) to lie my way through eye tests throughout my life. But finally, at the ripe old age of 25, I was told I needed them for reading and distance - YAS. So when I was asked if I wanted to  head down to my local Specsavers in Altrincham to get my eyes tested and get my hands on a pair of their new snazzy designer glasses range, how could I say no!?

Everyone in the Altrincham store was super friendly and incredibly helpful. I was straight in for the initial eye test and I also got to check out the new technology that can help choosing your glasses a little easier. Specsavers now have an app which scans your face, measures the shape and advises on the style of frames that will suit you. I always thought I knew exactly what I wanted and what suited me, but when I stuck to what the app had suggested, it was much much easier (total convert!).

Then it was on the to eye test itself. I had a lovely lady who took me through every stage and explained why she was doing each test; I even got to see the pictures from the back of my eyes (looked like planets!) and it was honestly really interesting to know what they're looking for, as well as testing your sight. Then onto the fun bit - trying on frames!

It honestly only took me about 10 minutes to find my perfect pair. A lovely guy showed my the scan of from the app and advised that softer edged frames would suit my oval shaped face. I narrowed it down to some translucent frames from Gant, a statement pair from Balmain and some tortoiseshell glasses by Tommy Hilfiger. With a little more advice from my mum, I went with the darker Tommy Hilfiger pair, and I love them! It was then just a week to wait until I picked up my perfect pair. I collected them earlier this week and I could not be happier with the glasses and the super service from Specsavers Altrincham and definitely recommend if you're in the North West.
